MotoX is an off-road motorcycle racing VR game. After playing it for a while, I think the most attractive parts are that it’s free and focused on off-road riding. If you already enjoy off-road style VR games, this one is a good option to play together with friends. If you’ve never tried this type of game before, you can start with this one and then decide whether you want to buy other paid games or DLC later.
That said, the game does have a few drawbacks. Even as someone who has a real motorcycle license, I found the turning controls a bit hard to get used to at first. The handling doesn’t feel very intuitive in the beginning (though it might just be me… the kid next to me was already doing 360s in the practice area).
Because it’s an off-road game, there are many moments with big jumps, parabolic movements, and 360 spins, which can make the view shake quite a lot. Thankfully, the game includes a quick switch to third-person view (L3), which helps reduce motion sickness.
Overall, if the control clarity were improved a bit, the gameplay experience would be even better. I’d recommend it to anyone who wants to try off-road motorcycle racing in VR for the first time.
